Our Packaging Journey
At Equine Connections For Performance Inc., we take pride in sourcing alternate packaging that can be reused, repurposed or recycled, all in an effort to lower overall waste.
Here’s a quick FYI on our packaging initiatives.
Biodegradable Packing Foam
This biodegradable foam is derived from corn starch!
Regular Styrofoam can not be recycled. So we have chosen this dissolvable packing foam, as one of our packaging options to lessen waste impact. It’s definitely better than Styrofoam packing peanuts that get everywhere (raise your hand(s) if you know what I mean).
If you don’t happen to have another need for it’s use no need to throw it out. Just toss it into your sink and watch it dissolve away with running water – maybe invite friends or family to watch :).
Kraft Packaging Tape
Kraft paper tape is our preferred seal-it-up stuff. Adding it to our eco friendly packaging line-up of supplies, makes good sense for taping up a recyclable box.
If you have crayons around, you can draw right on it.
Compostable Bags
Compostable bags: what more can we say other than we like the stealthy “ooo what’s inside?” look along with the fact it lowers the impact on our environment!
Honeycomb Protective Wrap
Honeycomb protective wrapping paper: not as sweet as honey, but it looks neat.
We’ chose this as an alternative to using plastic and Styrofoam for packaging protection.
Wire Keychains *
Wire Keychain loop thingies.
We choose these as a way cooler looking option that can be reused – other than trying to repurpose those plastic product tag ones you cut & toss (we assume).
If nothing else, maybe they could be a new finger hula hoop widget.
